Lately there have been a lot of rumours that Activision is going to remaster the Spyro trilogy. It is much likely that it will contain new assets, lighting, animations and cinematics like Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy remaster did. The remake should be officially announced this month and released in Q3 of 2018 which isn’t that far away.
The remaster will probably come with a new saving system which is more user friendly. It will include the following games Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage!, and Year of the Dragon plus some additional content maybe.
As we already said above the Spyro remaster will be announced in March 2018 and will be available for PS4 and PS4 Pro. The final release will be in Q3 and some sources suggest that it is much likely to be in September as Spyro got its 20th anniversary.
The game will be exclusive for PS4 within the first year afterwards ports to other consoles may be released. So if you do not have a PlayStation so far you will have the option to wait a year if you have enough patience. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was bound to similar contracts and you can expect new versions of it within this year.
Spyro Trilogy is currently being remastered by the same studio who created Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy which was a huge success. In our eyes it was the right decision to give them the chance to bring the purple dragon back on our screens as it was remembered back on the PlayStation 1.
